Orphan Care

Protection and Care for Orphans and Vulnerable Children

Protecting and caring for orphans and vulnerable children is one of the most vital humanitarian priorities and social responsibilities, especially in countries affected by conflict, war, and humanitarian crises.

Ensuring their safety and well-being is essential for securing a brighter future, allowing them to grow in a healthy environment and reach their full potential.

Due to the deteriorating security, political, and economic conditions amidst ongoing conflicts and famines, many children in Somalia are facing severe threats to their lives and future, including malnutrition, lack of healthcare, education, and etc. In response to these critical circumstances, Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development is working to provide support and care for children in various areas, contributing to the protection of their rights and ensuring a safe environment, education, and nutrition- all of which help secure a better future for them.

In response to these urgent challenges, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development (TFED) is committed to protecting and supporting orphans and vulnerable children through a range of dedicated programs. These efforts include:

  • Providing shelter, food, and necessities to orphaned and at-risk children.
  • Supporting access to education by enrolling children in schools and offering scholarships.
  • Creating safe and nurturing environments that allow children to grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually.
  • Promoting child rights and advocacy to ensure children are protected from abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Engaging communities to raise awareness about the importance of child protection and the collective role in caring for orphans.

Through these initiatives, TFED plays a crucial role in securing a safer, more hopeful future for Somalia’s most vulnerable children, enabling them to thrive despite the challenges they face.
