On April 14, 2024, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development (TFED) Organized a Training Course in Balanballe aimed at qualifying teachers from Qur’an Memorization Schools in the City.
The Course focused on developing the teachers’ Skills and enhancing their Knowledge to Improve the Quality of Religious education. The three-day training benefited approximately 50 teachers, equipping them with Improved Teaching Methodologies and Techniques.
This Initiative reflects TFED’s Commitment to Strengthening Education and Supporting teachers who play a vital role in the Community’s religious and Academic development.
As part of its ongoing Humanitarian and Charitable efforts, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development (TFED) Organized a Community Iftar Program on March 21, 2024. This Initiative Provided Support to 240 Underprivileged Families Residing in the Cities of Abudwak (Galgudud Region) and Garbaharey (Gedo Region).
The Program was Launched in Response to the difficult Circumstances Faced by Vulnerable Families during the holy Month of Ramadan. By offering essential assistance and Organizing Communal Meals, TFED aimed to alleviate hardship, Promote Solidarity, and foster Compassion within the Community during this Spiritually Significant time.
This Initiative underscores TFED’s deep Commitment to Social Support, Community Welfare, and the Promotion of Shared Values of Generosity and unity.
On February 26, 2024, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development (TFED), in Collaboration with Save the Children, Organized a Training Program and Workshops for Arabic Language and Islamic Studies teachers in Abudwak.
The Objective of the Program was to Enhance Teachers’ Skills and Improve their Instructional Capabilities, Ultimately Contributing to higher Standards in Education.
A total of 30 teachers Participated in the Training, which Focused on Modern Teaching Methods, Classroom Engagement techniques, and Strategies to Increase the Effectiveness of lesson delivery.
The Program was met with Positive Feedback from Participants, who highlighted the Importance of ongoing Professional Development.
The event underscored the need for Continued Support and Investment in Teacher Capacity-building as a key Factor in Improving the overall Quality of Education.
On the evening of Friday, February 16, 2024, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development Officially inaugurated its new Branch in the City of Garbaharey-Gedo Region in the Jubaland State of Somalia. The Opening Ceremony was attended by local dignitaries and Prominent Community leaders from Garbaharey. The attendees warmly welcomed the establishment of the Foundation, expressing their happiness and appreciation for this initiative aimed at Promoting Education and Development in the region.
On September 17, 2023, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development (TFED) Awarded Educational Scholarships to 75 Children from Orphaned and low-income Families. This Initiative is Part of the Foundation’s ongoing Commitment to Support the Education Sector and assist Vulnerable Groups within the Community.
The Scholarships Covered School Fees and Included the Provision of Essential Educational Supplies, such as Books, Stationery, and School Uniforms, helping to Ensure that the Children are fully Prepared to attend School with dignity and Confidence.
Parents of the beneficiary Children Expressed their Sincere Gratitude and Appreciation to the Foundation, describing the Initiative as a life-Changing act of generosity that has made a Meaningful and lasting Impact on their Children’s Educational Future.

On August 18, 2023, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development Organized an Awareness Session titled: “The Role of Women in Reforming Society.” The Session aimed to highlight the Critical role of Women in Social Reform, Community guidance, and Peace building.
The event drew the Participation of 100 Women, who Engaged actively in discussions around Women’s Contributions to Societal Development.
Participants Expressed their deep Appreciation for the session and Acknowledged the Importance of such Awareness-raising Initiatives in Enhancing Women’s understanding of their Societal roles and in Empowering them to become agents of Positive Change.

On July 7, 2023, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development distributed Copies of the Holy Qur’an to Male and Female Students in Qur’an Memorization Schools in Abudwak City. This Initiative Comes as Part of the Foundation’s Ongoing Commitment to Supporting Qur’anic Memorization Schools and Improving its Quality.
A total of 1,500 Copies of the Holy Qur’an were Provided and distributed to the Students, with the aim of Strengthening their Memorization and Study, and deepening their Knowledge and Spiritual Understanding of the Qur’an.
By launching this Project, the Tawfiq Foundation, Reaffirms its strong Commitment to Providing a Supportive Learning Environment and essential Resources that Contribute to the Academic and Spiritual Development of Students.
The Initiative also highlights the Importance of Moral and Ethical Education fostered through Religious learning.
On June 28, 2023, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development distributed Sacrificial Meat to Poor Families and displaced Persons in the district of Abudwak. This Initiative Coincided with the days of Eid al-Adha and aimed to bring joy and happiness to these Families and to Share the Spirit of the Eid Celebration with the wider Community.
A total of 250 Families benefited from this Humanitarian Project, which was Warmly Welcomed by the Recipients due to its Positive Impact in alleviating their hardships and Strengthening Social Solidarity during the days of Eid
On June 26, 2025, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development (TFED) Organized a Qur’an Memorization Competition in the northern Region of Galgudud. The event brought together Students from Various Qur’anic Schools, with the Goal of Encouraging Qur’an Memorization among youth and Promoting a Spirit of healthy Competition and Academic Excellence.
The Ceremony was attended by a diverse Group of guests, Including Educational Professionals, Local administrative officials, Ministers from the Galmudug State Government, and Prominent Community Members. Their Presence underscored the Significance of the event and the Value Placed on Religious Education and Youth Development.
To honor Exceptional Performance, the top-ranking Students were awarded Cash Prizes, Recognizing their dedication, discipline, and Achievement in Memorizing the Holy Qur’an. The Competition Served not only as a Celebration of talent and effort but also as an Inspiration for other Students to Engage more deeply in Religious learning.

Finally, the attendees Expressed their deep Appreciation for the Vital role the Foundation plays-especially in Organizing such Meaningful Qur’an events that Contribute to the Spread of Goodness and the Reinforcement of the Qur’an’s Significance within Society.
On May 26, 2023, the Tawfiq Foundation for Education and Development Organized a Lecture and Scientific Symposium under the theme: “The Role of Tribal Elders in Achieving Social Peace.” The event aimed to highlight the Pivotal role of Tribal Leaders and Clan Elders in Promoting Security, Trust-building, and Conflict Resolution within Communities through Peaceful and Traditional Means.
The Symposium brought together a diverse Group of Prominent Participants, Including Intellectuals, Peace and Development Advocates, and Respected tribal elders. Attendees engaged in thoughtful discussions, Sharing Insights and Experiences that Emphasized the Importance of Traditional Leadership in Fostering harmony and understanding.
The event was met with active and Positive Engagement from the Audience. In its Conclusion, Speakers and Participants Stressed the Importance of Empowering Tribal Elders and Equipping them with the Necessary tools and Support to Enhance their Role in Peace building and Strengthening Social Cohesion.
